Visual Inspection of Welds
Non-Destructive Weld Inspection

visual weld inspection Visual inspection of welds is a cost-effective method and should take place before, during and after welding in accordance with a particular welding process. Visual inspection requires good eyesight, adequate lighting, a ruler, a weld size gauge, magnifying glass and a straight edge for inspection of straightness, alignment and perpendicularity.

K2O Consulting can provide visual inspection of welds for your fabrication facility or Quality Assurance Department. An inspector trained by the American Welding Society (AWS) can provide visual inspections in accordance with AWS D1.1 requirements. This would include welding done by the Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Shield Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Submerged Arc Welding (SAW), Plasma Arc Welding (PAW), Electro Slag Welding (ESW), Oxyacetylene Welding (OAW), Stud Welding (SW), Laser Beam Welding (LBW), Electron Beam Welding (EBW) and Resistance Welding (RW) processes.
